A 24-year-old woman was reportedly been shot in the clitoris after a stray bullet entered her home while she was sitting in her living room.

Medical operatives at Erdoğan Hospital in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, have extracted a two centimetre bullet from the vagina of a 24-year-old after she was rushed to hospital in severe pain.

The bullet, which reportedly came through the ceiling pierced her clitoris, while she sat in her living room and the operation took place through the help of Computerised Tomography (CT) scans, which revealed the bullet had become lodged inside her clitoris after being fired into her vulva.

Having decided that she needed surgery to have it safely removed, the obstetrics and gynaecology team, who heard of the strange story from the woman, who told them that she sat in her lounge when the stray bullet fell through the ceiling, got to work and with pelvic examination showing where the bullet had penetrated the clitoris and lodged, successfully removed it.

The operation was said to have been carried out using  local anaesthetic, adding that following its surgical removal, with no complications observed, the woman was discharged home the following day “in good condition,” the reports, which stated that subsequent visits showed no further complications, say, quoting medics.

A letter by popular Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie, with which he tendered a moving apology to his first wife, May Edochie, after taking a second wife, currently trending on the social media, seems to underscore the turn of events in the home of the versatile Nollywood star.

Yul, scion of veteran actor and broadcaster, Pete Edochie, had stirred controversy with his decision to father a child with another woman, Judy Austin Muoghalu, a colleague in the movie industry, whom he went ahead to marry as a second wife.

Against the backdrop of a reported feeling of betrayal by the first wife and the mother of his four, who also used the social media to air her feelings, attracting lots of sympathy from a groundswell of the public, Yul, seems to be making a detour from his original seeming remorseless attitude.

In a lengthy, but emotional epistle via his official Instagram account on Wednesday afternoon, penned down his feelings, taking the blame for his actions and asking for forgiveness.

He wrote: “To my dear wife, Queen May Yul-Edochie, l acknowledge that I hurt you deeply and I’ve apologized to you countless times. I take the blame for my actions.

l agree with you that polygamy shouldn’t be forced on anyone. You never bargained for it from the beginning neither did I. ButI guess life happens. You already know the whole story.”

“I didn’t do it to disrespect you, I didn’t do it to replace you nor because I do not love you anymore, no. I have always loved you and always will. i‘ve been a good husband and a wonderful father.

I’ve supported all your hustle from day one, I have been an exceptional father to our children till date making sure they lack nothing and always there for everyone. Out of 100 I have dorne 99 things right, hating me because of one thing isn’t the best.

“Nobody is perfect. l’m not. You’re not. Nobody is, except God. I assure you that nobody is trying to take your place.

I’d have gone into crime but for music – Wizkid

Published

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has narrated how going into the world of music practically saved him from another world – crime, saying there was no way he could have escaped if he did not take that option, given what faced him in his early life.

The music prodigy and multiple award winner, including Grammy, while stressing the role his career played in shaping him, told The Guardian, that he began music from the church, his grandfather’s Pentecostal church where ‘he and his cousins were choir boys’.

The global music icon, who stated how he grew up in a ‘chaotic but fun house’ dominated by women in Surulere as the youngest of 11 children and his mother’s only son, explained living in Surulere, an area though considered middle class but was not devoid of crime, presented him with two options; turn to music or embrace a life of vices.

Explaining that music went beyond being just a hobby for him but an escape plan to avoid the life of crime which is why he does not ‘joke’ with it, he added: “Music was more than a hobby for me, more than a talent,” he says. It was my escape. I was in the hood. It was either [music] or turn to crime. That’s why I don’t joke with music,” he said.
